The goal of a smart city is to have safer, healthier and more connected communities. Five years ago, Jessie Adcock embarked on an initiative to lead the City of Vancouver’s digital transformation to prepare it for an era of constantly evolving technologies. This year, The Cities of Vancouver and Surrey collaborated to develop a joint bid for the federal Smart Cities Challenge and were selected as one of five finalists for the $50M prize category.
