Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I’ve been in data and AI for the last 25 years. I started when nobody cared! I’ve worked with small, medium and large organizations in the domain, from starting a company from my garage to managing large teams at Oracle, Microsoft and Google.

I have a deep passion for customers, technology and company building. I curate “The CarCast”, a podcast on everything tech, data & AI, syndicated online to six million viewers. (https://tinyurl.com/TheCarCast).

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

I’ve been lucky to be the right-hand person to a few CEOs throughout my career. I learned a lot from them about how to hire and scale teams in diverse environments: startups and scale-ups.

I’ve learned that the most important principles include collaboration, courage, clarity and accountability (or CCCA). I’ve also learned that great leadership starts with self-awareness. That’s why, over the years, I’ve refined my “user-guide”, a document that provides insights in my operating principles. Many of my team members have contributed to it (one of them even called it “How To Bruno.”) You can find a version of it at bit.ly/HowToBruno.
