Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I started my career in data and analytics at two of the Big Four management consulting firms, where I gained experience in data management, analysis, and reporting. I then worked within the Private Equity Commercial Operations group at Cerberus Capital Management and went on to work as the Head of Performance Reporting & Analytics at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), leading business intelligence strategy globally for the data and analytics division.

In 2022, I moved to BlackRock where I currently lead the Aladdin Data Migration Practice and various private markets, business intelligence implementation efforts. My experience managing large global business intelligence teams, passion for using data to drive strategic decision-making, and proficiency in various data and analytics tools and programming languages has contributed to my success in my current role.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

One of my guiding leadership principles is to lead by example. I believe that being a good leader means setting a positive example for others to follow, whether it's in work ethic, attitude, or communication. I strive to lead with integrity, transparency, and empathy, and I believe this helps to build trust and foster a positive team culture.

With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CDAO going in the next 1-2 years?

I see my role as a data and analytics leader continuing to evolve as new technologies and business needs emerge. With the increasing importance of data in driving business decisions, I believe that my role will continue to be focused on improving data management, analysis, and reporting processes to provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights to stakeholders. Additionally, I see a growing need for data-driven solutions that leverage AI and machine learning, and I hope to continue to drive innovation in this area.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CDAO?

My advice would be to never stop learning and growing your skillset. Data and analytics is a constantly evolving field, and it's important to stay up-to-date with new technologies and industry trends.

Find a mentor or join a professional community to network with peers and gain insights and perspectives from others in similar roles. Don't be afraid to take on new challenges and be open to learning from mistakes. And most importantly, always keep a curious and innovative mindset.

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. I'm an avid traveler and have visited over 30 countries so far.
  2. I enjoy playing the piano in my spare time and have been playing since I was a child.
  3. One of my New Year's resolutions is to get much better at golf, but I have been unsuccessful so far in my attempts.
