Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
I spent most of my career in the Pharmaceutical Commercial space with progressive roles in commercial strategy, sales, marketing and communications. My passion for team building, culture and high performance guided me to shift careers in 2018 and lead the Bayer HR function for Canada.
What are your guiding leadership principles?
I believe in authenticity and transparency. Gone are the days where leaders need to paint a picture of perfection. Showing our vulnerabilities builds trust and allows those around us to feel included.
With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CHRO going in the next 1-2 years?
Disruption breeds innovation. Digital technologies for example are dramatically shifting the way we do business. As a CHRO we need to continue to build our knowledge and foster our stakeholder relationships to navigate through complexity as an aligned team.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CHRO?
Learn about the business and their “why”. Dive deep to understand the values of the organization. Culture is not a nice to have, it is a must have.
Tell us three fun facts about yourself.
I love to travel, I’m an avid reader and love hanging out and joking around with my two boys
What is the value of joining an Evanta community?
I am new to the Evanta community; however, my first experiences have been so positive. The opportunity to meet peers to share experiences and a few laughs is amazing!
