Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

There have been several 'leap of faith' moments throughout my career that have led me to becoming a CIO. The first was being selected to join the Technology Leadership program at General Electric after focusing on finance in college. The second was when a former manager of mine asked me to move across the country with my family for an opportunity to drive technology transformation at HP. Another was when we decided to move back for a role at my previous employer, General Electric. And last is when I took the role at Cenveo, a printing company, which ironically enough was what my father did for a living as a VP of Manufacturing for another large printing company.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

It's all about integrity for me – doing the right thing when nobody is watching.

What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

Cyber Security is a top priority these days, and it’s increasing with generative AI in the mix. Our focus is on consistent awareness training for all employees, investments in tools and processes to identify threats, and have redundancy plans in place.

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?

Create your 100 day plan before you start and deliver quick hits to establish credibility and partnerships throughout the business.

How do you measure success as a leader?

A happy- and execution-focused team that delivers results.
