Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

My passion lies at the thrilling crossroads of technology and business. Throughout my career, I’ve navigated diverse roles in enterprise IT and business, driving digital transformations across industries such as life sciences, digital publishing, and advertising media and communications. I’m energized by how technology can ignite growth and carve out a competitive edge through strategic digital innovations. From my early days as a business analyst and technology consultant at Accenture to leading IT business engagement at Publicis Groupe, product delivery and chief of staff to a CEO and rising to the role of business partner and divisional CIO, and ultimately head of digital products at Labcorp, I’ve always pursued roles that blend deep business insight with IT expertise. In today’s world, where technology leaders must be business trailblazers, I’ve committed myself to mastering the nuances of every industry I’ve worked in, consistently pursuing the delivery of value through technological innovation.

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

To be a good leader, it's essential to listen with the intent to understand, not just to reply. Throughout my 20-year professional career, I’ve learned that strong leadership begins with being an exceptional listener. This approach has been the most crucial factor in how I develop my team and effectively collaborate with my peers and our customers.

What is the greatest challenge CIOs face today, and how are you addressing it?

The rapid pace of technological disruption is transforming the clinical trials landscape, pushing our customers to innovate with greater urgency. This shift has raised customer expectations and increased the demand for digital solutions that improve quality, efficiency, and overall experience. In today’s digital world, our customers understand that data and technology offer a significant competitive edge, accelerating outcomes that enhance health and lives.

To address these demands I introduced a new product operating model aligned with how top digital organizations are evolving to manage and deliver technology-driven solutions. This model represents a more mature approach, designed to launch digital products that thrive in the marketplace. It begins with an "outside-in" customer focus, identifying the key problems our customers need solved and prioritizing product opportunities accordingly. We've transformed our process by integrating agile best practices and product management methodologies, resulting in improved key performance indicators across the board. This not only changed how we manage digital products but also drove a cultural shift toward becoming a fully digital-first organization.

What is the key to success for someone just starting out as a CIO?

Start with a clear strategy based on a mission and vision you genuinely believe in, and be prepared to face skepticism without letting it deter you. Surround yourself with diverse perspectives and create an inclusive culture. Make listening to customers a priority, investing ample time in understanding their needs, and back their insights with an evidence-based approach to decision-making.

How do you measure success as a leader?

The voice of our customers is crucial, encompassing the perspectives of our sponsors, investigator sites, and, ultimately, the patients. Equally important is how my team shows up. As a values-driven leader, I am committed to creating a culture where we prioritize our well-being and that of others, setting an example of what it means to be a supportive teammate and a professional.

What is the value of being a member of the Evanta community?

Along with offering valuable networking opportunities, being part of the Evanta community strengthens my leadership by allowing me to learn from my peers and stay competitive in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
