Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.

I have 20 years of experience in the financial sector and have worked as an IT Executive and in a senior management capacity for various financial institutions including Chartered Banks, Investment Firms and Pension Trusts.
 

What is one of your guiding leadership principles?

My leadership principle is to lead by example and encourage independent thinking while empowering my teams.
 

With disruption being a key theme of the past year, where do you see your role as a CIO going in the next 1-2 years?

Technology has been and will be even more critical in helping to manage future disruptions while remaining a critical part of any organization’s success - hence the CIO’s role will be very vital to lead these initiatives.

What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CIO?

You are as strong as your team, surround yourself with the right skillset and trust them. 

Be an enabler. Have brave conversations at the leadership level.
 

Tell us 3 fun facts about yourself.

  1. I love to play and watch sports and have been a baseball coach for a rep team.
  2. Traveling is my passion
  3. I started my career in civil engineering and later switched to IT.
