Claudio Frencia is an electrical engineer with over 30 years of working experience in information and communication technology. Throughout his career, Claudio has led international innovative projects, established various cybersecurity teams and contributed to several digital innovation initiatives.

Give us a brief overview of the path that led to your current role.
In 1992, I completed my master’s degree in electrical engineering. Between 1992 and 2001, I worked at several consultancy firms, managing the design and implementation of innovative international IT projects.
Subsequently, between 2001-2022, I founded a cybersecurity team at a big automotive enterprise (300+k users, hundred billion in revenues), making the team global, moving from technical cybersecurity to risk management and serving as leader of cybersecurity for impressive M&A (up to 600+ users, 180 billion of revenues).
What is one of your guiding leadership principles?
Respect and coherence.
With disruption being a key theme of the past few years, where do you see your role as a CISO going in the next 1-2 years?
Be disruptive. Think differently.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out in the role as a CISO?
Be humble.

- I am a former semi-professional basketball player.
