As vaccinations ramp up and mandates are lifted, business leaders around the world are navigating what a post-pandemic work life looks like. We surveyed CISOs across Evanta communities to understand their perspectives on creating a new “normal” at their organizations. This is what your CISO peers are saying in June.
Concerns About Company Culture
When asked about their top business concerns, 60% of CISOs selected maintaining culture and engagement and 53% said employee retention and recruitment. This could be a reflection of the fact that executives are grappling with their workforce strategies and recognizing the impacts of organizational decisions on culture and recruiting.
Returning to the Office
44% of security leaders report that they have some employees back in the office already this spring, and 21% have a timeline of less than 3 months.
Remote Work Going Forward
73% of CISOs report that their companies will offer some type of hybrid option between remote work and the office, and only 4% say that working remotely will no longer be an option at all. As one CISO notes, “We've always had a flexible work environment; that won't change, but we won't be fully remote.”
Long-Term Impact of Remote Work
On their top concerns about the long-term effects of working remotely, 26% of CISOs say maintaining company culture, followed by 23% who are concerned about their teams’ communication and alignment.
Back to Business Travel
Only 8% of security leaders have resumed business travel currently, while 34% don’t expect to start traveling again for 3 to 6 months.
Returning to In-Person Meetings
64% of CISOs are either very excited or somewhat excited to return to in-person events and meetings.
